Kanye posted this following paragraph on his blog in response to the petty Ice-T vs. Soulja Boy thing going on. You already know the man is gonna catch heat for saying:

“Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be.”

Here is Kanye’s full response:

Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain’t Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain’t even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it’s 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning… that’s Nas level shit… he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track “Silent Murder” on it. In closing… new niggas get ya money$$$$$$$$$$ Keep this shit fresh and original…. ain’t no fuckin’ rules to this shit and that’s what real hip hop is to me.

Do you think Kanye has a point or is he a fool for even siding with Soulja?

Kanye is mad for saying that shit. Comparing Soulja Boy to Nas is a f***ing insult to hip hop. And what the hell, the dude isn’t hip hop to start with. Kanye is and always was a douche bag, and I hope Nas personally slaps him for it. Soulja boy “rapping” about robocop, ya tricks, and supper-soaking hoes does nothing revolutionary politically like oh say Public Enemy, or even intelligent. Ice-T would murder both these punks on the mic any given day.

And then Kanye says “aint no fuckin rules”. Well there are, and it’s called supply and demand, the basic rules that govern the economy and therefore record sales. Too bad nobody these days coould recognise a decent rhyme if it shot them in the chest.

While he isn’t dissing Ice, he needs to pay his respects, because without Iceman, Kanye wouldn’t have a job, or he’d be living on welfare doing his whack raps in remote clubs.
